Karim Rashid: Awesome Interior Designer
- Wednesday, October 3rd 2012.
Karim Rashid has infiltrated our lives with his designs for all sorts of domestic items – vacuums, furniture, water, and it’s both interesting and revealing to see what he did in his own space. Karim Rashid is one of the most creative and diverse designers of our generation. The soft organic shape produced for this evocative home concept creates a womb-like structure that is conducive to energy efficacy through the sculptured form, no corners trap hot or cold air. Like many experiments of the mid-century the house uses a single repeated flat panel. His loud style has called him an audience from every corner of the globe. He likes living with his product designs because it teaches him about how they function in the real world and what can be improved. The house relies on sustainable and smart infrastructure for energy consumption and production with water reuse and low impact construction. Karim is an architect, interior designer, writer and product designer who has dynamically touched every facet of design from eye wear and furniture to children toys- and still manages to hold a few hobbies.

Karim Rashid ideas are very unusual making the interior fresh, bright and spacey. It has nothing in common with a traditional one. It will seem to you that you turn out to be in the world of unreal future. Everything will surprise you: either engaging color palette or the walls with different shapes. With these elements the spaces are fluid and human and can communicate an organic, soft, pleasurable domestic environment. An unique outdoor seating solution integrating a green mantle of grass planted into one of its undulating curves. I have always been interested in this notion of a modular house, of efficient dwelling that can be erected simply and quickly, that can be inexpensive and democratic, and customizable with little cause and great effect.
