At first look it appears to resemble a bucket of paint which has been knocked over. Liquid Lamp by Kouichi Okamoto available in either red or white. These stark white lamps are made from sturdy iron plate, but their fluid shape reminds us more of that glass cup full of paint that we knocked over. A craftsman bends one piece of only steel board by manual labor one by one and I process welding and mold it. Like the bookmark, the lamp is designed with a dripping pattern that makes the product look like it is melting. . Each shade is hand built from a single sheet of steel, molded by an expert craftsman without welding or folding.

Liquid Lamp by Kouichi Okamoto comes in a wall mounted model, table lamp and a hanging version. Designed by Kouichi Okamoto, the Liquid Lamp is made of steel. The Liquid Lamp is 12.5 inches high, 11.5 inches wide and 8.2 inches in depth, takes a single 25 watt bulb and is activated by an inline slider switch built into the electrical cord. Kouichi Okamoto’s Liquid Lamp is a basic, minimalist light, but one unique aspect sets it apart from the others. We like the fact that his designs are crazy and cool, and somewhat quirky, yet they are developed and produced using a clever array of techniques that are helping to re-define what design is, and just how attainable it can be for the masses. The whole lampshade appears to be made of wet paint dripping in suspended animation, defying gravity and adding a quirky sense of life to your room.
