Nostalgia with your Childhood Games with Tetris Chair by Gabriel Cañas
- Tuesday, October 9th 2012.
Tetris is a novel piece of furniture, inspired by the famous video game and the constructivism. The chair looks really cool and inspiring. The following Tetris Chair designed by Mexican industrial designer Gabriel Cañas belongs to such products. The chair is comprised of five of the seven tetrominoes pieces from Tetris. Each three-dimensional block is a fiber glass unit that, loosely translated, “results in a light, showy, and resistant product.” The interesting thing about Tetris is its design fun, consisting of the five existing parts in the game converted to a three-dimensional version invites you to be one component of the chair.

The material selection like hard foam would have made this chair a cool, cozy and comfortable hang out zone. Tetris is made of independent modules fiberglass for efficient production that results in a lightweight, eye-catching and durable. The colorful Tetris Chair by Gabriel Cañas doesn’t look too comfortable, but it does look extremely fun and perfect for anyone looking for a whimsical seating solution. Even though its breakthrough design is fascinating to look at, I wouldn’t call it comfortable until I can actually sit on it.
Built from three-dimensional fiberglass facsimiles of the tetrominoes, the Tetris Chair is, perhaps unsurprisingly, on the bulky side. Tetris Chair by Gabriel Canas either comes in multi-colored version or black and white. It looks totally cool and your mind will probably be occupied with how all the pieces are going to fit together even when you’re sitting on it, sipping on a cup of hot mocha. Perhaps this chair is not comfortable, but it would be a real treat for lovers of retro gaming to be held in the living room in front of the console last generation. If you’ve lived in the 80s and love video games at that time, you would certainly recognize one of the most popular video games at that time.
