2012 Talk furniture by Keilhauer

Talk furniture by Keilhauer is a collection that looks to minimize the efforts of earnest ears. The idea was to create a new typology of benches with backs, chairs, and tables to accommodate and to optimize face-to-face meetings. Making use of privacy screens, these chairs look to give you the most confidential conference you could hope for in a public place. With single and two-seat benches TALK may appear in many different configurations. The seating features high backs and v-configurations that block out nosy neighbors and instantly upgrade any lobby or room to impeccable interior designing status.

The corners of the chairs are rounded, shaving away the severity of high-backed seats that very easily would have otherwise resembled plush thrones more than friendly loungers. Talk furniture by Keilhauer has a vocabulary that is simple yet produces many different configurations in seat widths and heights and backrest heights, with complementary lounge-height tables, desk-height tables, and small end tables. Whether or not you personally like Talk’s V aesthetic, there is one brilliant design decision in the furniture

The table’s hexagonal shape appears to be cut out of the space created when two benches are positioned opposite one another. Additional single seat chairs can be grouped in between, to create many sitting combinations and scenarios. In open-plan environments the lounge collection offers intimacy in a human scale. Talk furniture by Keilhauer not only maximizes the use of the space between seats, it also creates a natural plane on which to present papers and other materials used in meetings. Slight V-shaped seat, designed to create a comfort angle for talking without losing touch of the backrest. Given the bustling and highly dense nature of cities, these couches are perfect for any downtown office, so as to give people a chance to speak and congregate with little distraction
