Furniture designer Jay Watson has unveiled a unique set of heat-sensitive furniture that allows users to make a personal “stamp” on them upon contact. Here’s the bespoke furniture that lets you witness how oblivious we can be to every effect we have on our nearby surroundings and environment on the whole. Linger A Little Longer by Jay Watson created out of solid oak wood this table and bench ensemble is coated in a thermo chromic finish, which means that anything that comes in contact with the furniture that emits enough heat will leave a thermal impression until the area, naturally cools down to room temperature.

Place anything hot on the table or benches, be it body parts or crockery, and immediately the table comes to life, leaving ephemeral ‘watermarks’. Then the heat-sensitive paint, which covered the surface of furniture, will brighten where it related to warm hands, feet, or utensils with hot food. The company was small and worked with interior designers and architects, focusing on small projects, but specializing in lots of different media. This means that anything or anyone who emits some sort of heat will leave behind some sort of thermal impression on the surface. If we had one of these we’d probably cut down on cold beer but still try to get our friends drunk so we can press their faces to the table.
