This Unique Stairs Designed by Heatherwick Studio. It design to celebrated founder to combine art, architecture, structural engineering and design into masterpieces. Longchamp’s boutique is on the second floor of the three-story building with a modest, unassuming street presence. Constructed in 1¼” hot-rolled steel and taking six months to build, the stair landscape weighs 55 tones and is an installation of ribbon-like forms that divide and converge to form topography of walkways, landings and steps. The main retail floor continues the theme of disarming undulation. The laminated timber ceiling is sliced open with forensic precision and the slashed strips peeled downwards to provide instant display units, while also exposing the building’s disemboweled guts.
This Unique Stairs Located in the heart of New York City’s SoHo district on the corner of Spring and Greene Streets. This design is winner of a Design Week Award for best retail interior.
